Interactive

The popularity of optical disk-based interactive media (CD-ROM and DVD) peaked some years ago: the combination of affordable broadband Internet connections and the widespread adoption of more efficient streaming technologies such as YouTube and Adobe Flash as well as the increasing popularity of mobile devices such as and smartphones and the Apple iPad have meant that the Web has effectively cornered the market for interactive media.

However DVD based interactive media are still widely in use, particularly in education as well as commercial advertising and promotion.

DVDs have the capacity to deliver vast amounts of information including high definition video and literally thousands of pages of text and images, all easily accessed via a custom interactive menu system.

I have extensive experience of creating interactive media including a guide to micropipetting that was commissioned and sold by Anachem Limited and an instructional CD-ROM on drape testing for the Centre for Objective Measurement and Innovation Technologies (COMIT).

Finally, credit card-sized CD-ROMs are a convenient and effective way of promoting your company – they are relatively cheap, easily printed with your company brand and contact details, convenient to carry and can deliver a wide variety of promotional materials including bespoke video, photographs and written materials all within a custom built, company branded interactive application.
